BATTERY DOCTORS volunteer on charitable mission to Borneo…

A few years ago, Hywel Philippart struck up an acquaintance with a member of a remote tribe from a village in Borneo. During visits to the tribal village, he began to understand that one of the fundamental problems facing the tribe was that of electricity storage. Although the villages had generators, these only operated for around 4 hours a day. After that, all electrically powered activities ceased. These activities included communications between one remote village and another, for example. Hywel also noticed large numbers of discarded lead acid batteries lying in heaps. Due to his extensive engineering experience, he decided to investigate whether there was any possibility of obtaining additional life from these failed batteries.

This research showed there were a number of methods of reconditioning batteries to be found globally. These ranged from the not efficient or environmentally friendly practice of rebuilding batteries, to the addition of mysterious powders which
purported to bring a battery back to life.

Further research led him to a US based, chemical research and development
company called ProTec International. Founded in 1988, ProTec had successfully developed environmentally safe products for the fuel, power plant and telecommunication industries in the United States and around the world. After extensive laboratory testing and analysis, ProTec developed a non-hazardous chemical, which, with a specially designed charger, successfully removed the accumulated plate sulphation on 12V lead acid automotive batteries. Wanting to provide the Borneo villages with a truly reliable means of re-energising batteries, Hywel then spent more than a year researching and testing the ProTec method.

The System has been so successful in changing the lives of the Borneo villagers that Hywel decided to secure the European Distribution rights for Battery Doctors. The Battery Doctors concept already provides profitable business opportunities in
the US and as far afield as Japan, Indonesia, Mauritius, Singapore, Australia and South Africa.
