- How much do I charge for a battery?
On average a reconditioned battery sells for between $29 and $42 or more depending on size. Reconditioned heavy duty, industrial and all other batteries sell for much more.
- Do I have to take the battery apart?
Absolutely NOT. This is why our program is so successful. People from all walks of life can become “Battery Doctors” without having to take the battery apart. Just pour three ounces of ProBat into the battery, charge and prep.
- What types of profits can I expect?
This will depend on your market and more importantly on your determination. Assume you can generate $29 to $42 of profit per battery. You can do the math from here.
- Why do batteries die prematurely?
Typically batteries die prematurely due to hard sulphation build-up on the plates. Battery Doctors has developed a product to rid the plates of these deposits.
- How will I know which batteries are worth reconditioning?
You will receive an extensive, easy to understand instructional video and manual to teach you. You will also receive battery testers to assist you with your battery selection process. Remember, 70 to 80 percent of all batteries stop working prematurely due to sulphation.
- What kind of batteries can I recondition?
All types of lead-acid batteries for cars, motorcycles, marine, golf carts, recreational, industrial, medical, farming, manufacturing, back-up, heavy duty, and many, many more!
- How long does a recon-ditioned battery last?
It depends on the age and previous use of the battery. We recommend offering a 1 year “full replacement” warranty. Some of our operators are successful giving 2 and 3 year warranties.
- Where can I get discarded batteries?
Many places! Auto repair shops, auto parts stores, lube and oil outlets, gas stations, car dealers, auto dismantlers, recycling centers, the list is almost endless. You will also prevent these batteries from ending up in our landfills.
- Do I have any competition?
Typically not. You may run across an occasional “battery rebuilder” but the excessive cost of labor and parts make it very difficult for them to compete.
- Do I get company support?
Your success is our success! We offer Technical, Marketing and Product support. Our support personnel are here to help you succeed.
- How much does it cost to recondition a battery?
An average battery costs less than $2 to recondition.
- What if I need to charge more than 6 batteries at a time?
You will receive 6 additional leads with your ProCharge. This will allow up to 12 batteries to charge at a time. As your business expands, additional ProCharge’s can be added.
- Where do I get more products after I use the initial supply that reconditions 1200 regular size car batteries?
You can order and resupply all of your product needs through us. Only Battery Doctors Operators can purchase the exclusive products used for reconditioning batteries to be sold to the public.
- Do I get a territory?
No, this is actually the old fashioned way. Assigning territories limits your potential to the confines of a given geography. We encourage expansion and growth limited only by your aspirations. Battery Doctors will monitor and advise operators to assure a healthy business flow and minimize the potential of you and your neighbor competing for the same business. Additionally, since we are not a franchise, we cannot and do not want to tell you how to run your business, instead we take an advisory approach. Since many operators want to grow beyond the initial area where they started their business, it is in everyone’s best interest if operators do not have to pay additional fees when they expand their service area.
- Why was Battery Doctors first sold overseas and not in the United States.
ProTec established many strong relationships when developing products for overseas companies. It was a natural progression to introduce Battery Doctors there.
- Is ProTec International an American based company?
You betcha! 100% USA. Even our ProBat is made in the US.
- How safe is this program?
It was created with safety and simplicity in mind. ProBat is an environmentally safe, non-acidic, non-hazardous product that you pour into the battery. ProCharge was designed to work from a common 110 household outlet. It will monitor each battery independently and automatically shut off when reconditioning is complete.
- Is ProBat available to anyone?
No, it is exclusive to Battery Doctors Operators!
- Can I contact other owners?
Yes, we encourage you to do everything necessary to become comfortable with your decision to become a Battery Doctors Operator. Due to the many requests we receive and the time required to return these calls, most Battery Doctors Operators that agree to take calls, limit them to one or two per week. For his reason, we request that you direct your initial questions to your assigned and very experienced business consultant. Once we have answered many of your questions you can request to speak with an operator. While we do our very best to satisfy your requests we cannot always provide the closest operator or one within the industry you are considering.
- Can I recondition maintenance free batteries?
Yes you can. Our program will show you how.
- Do I really get all the essential things needed to get started?
YES you do. We want to make sure you are ready to get started as soon as it arrives on your doorstep.
